Crittered Out

Journal Entry: Mon Nov 9, 2009, 4:40 PM

We're celebrating my sister's birthday a bit earlier; it's on the tenth o November, but she's very busy tomorrow with classes. So, we're gonna go out to Cheesecake Factory (since no one was THAT interested in going to Outback Steakhouse; not very good drinks there).

I also got her a DL-version of FF7 original PSOne classic for the PS3. She's determined to figure out why it's so gosh-darned popular. I wouldn't give a flying Ferrari over that.

And speaking of PS3, I think I'm Critter Crunch'ed out. I've maxed out my levels in Versus mode (level 40, Tongue Master) at rank 12 at this moment, subject to change, of course. If I ever do versus again, I hope it'll be with some newcomers so they can get easy points off of me.

Also, however, I've been invited to do some Co-ops tomorrow with some new PSN friends >_<

SOME century, I'll get 100% complete on my game...

MUST START THIS WEEK. :stupidme:

Did I mentioned that I beat R&CF:ACiT last week or so? Right now, I'm trying to get the Trophy for the mini-video game (My Blaster Runs Hot). It doesn't help that I have a lame partner for second player, so it's been difficult. Our highest score coupled together is about 9800 points; the Trophy is for 10000 points :XD:

Anyone else having problems with it? I've read that the easiest way to get the Trophy is playing with another friend, but like I mentioned before: lame partner. Doing it single is suicide.

Man, were 1980s video games THIS tedious??

Feeling Any SMART-er?

Journal Entry: Sat Oct 31, 2009, 11:40 PM

I don't believe it. I'm in shock.

MOM WAS ABLE TO GET TWO C-SMART CARS AFTER TRADING IN DAD'S AND SIS'S CARS!!!!!!! :faint:

People are already talkin' about it in the neighborhood when I dropped by the bonfire-every-Halloween-year family across the street.

So that's why I ran out of time and energy. I forgot buying a car was an all-day event. But I do hope Dad will be happy with his new "Mini-Rocket" with its easy-to-get-out height-ness. (Your Saturn served us well in our time of need, Brother Tone, but he's crippled with bad knees, bad back, and he keeps bitching about the drivers who bitch at him for taking his time to get out from a low-position sports car parallel parked near his office; he literally did had trouble lifting -- heaving -- himself out from it as I watched him today at the dealer's lot.)

And Sis took the acquisition very well, also. I was worried she was gonna reject it because it's so nice, and she thinks she doesn't deserve nice things (I.E. expensive, NECESSARY things from an awesome mother). Girl deserves it, I think, because she's got a good work ethic and is a great cake-person. And at last, she and I will be able to drive together again whilst listening to one of our iPods (hers has anime songs, mine have DIFM songs). Haven't done that in years since I got my license.

As stated above, went to get the two Smart cars, and I had to choose between coloring or carving, and I wanted to carve, anyway, since this is the last time I'll be able to do that for a couple of years. But I did draw Biggs in a witch's hat :aww:

This was our last Halloween, wherein out tradition is taking turns handing out treat-bags full of candy, pom-pom spiders and necklaces to trick-or-treaters whilst watching a Halloween-themed movie from out DVD library. Instead, the folks went out to see Where the Wild Things Are and ate at a Mexican restaurant. Sis and I sat out in the chilled night air handing out treats to the kids that come in troves, big and small, with just my one little pumpkin out front, a jack-o-lantern The Cheat. ONLY three people got the character right :XD: Well, we do obscured jack-o-lanterns.

I don't know what we'll do to celebrate Halloween for the next two years, but I'm just glad we were able to hand out a fair chunk of candy out. It would be nice to take a break from it, too; it's usually the Holiday stressor for me, unlike X-mas for some weirdos. Maybe a walk/drive in the neighborhood to look at decorations, pumpkins and costumes would be a good alternative; I love seeing those when I was a trick-or-treater.

Happy Halloween, everybloody -- now I go crash

It's Critter-Crunchin' Time! Let's Play!!!

Journal Entry: Fri Oct 30, 2009, 10:25 PM

My birthday was yesterday. I played R&CF:ACIT for my family to watch. Man, the guys at Insomniac are ALWAYS making things better and better. Not game-play alone, and I won't give any spoilers, but the PHYSICS once again baffles me. When you turn your left stick in a turning direction for both characters, their center of gravity changes -- I mean they PIVOT like they're really turning against gravity and not just because of simple programming. It's hard to explain; it's like when you lean your bike in order to make a hard turn -- THAT'S amazing, I can't get over it.

Not so very fond with their revised outer space travel, though; it isn't like from the Going Commando one (yes, I happen to like that one because it's an accurate representation of what traveling through 3-D zero-gravity space). Can't even pull up or pull down with either stick-- just go-fast or go-slow, turn right/left, dodge or make U-turns  2-D space battle is not cool.

Also, we went to Olive Garden for dinner; I love Italian food

Then played a little more R&CF before everyone else crashed. I stayed put to continue my other current addiction: Critter Cruch :D Tell ya about it in the B-Blah section

I SO wanna do some CC fanart. Then again, I REALLY need to finish coloring that monster as well; I kinda shirked it off playing more said CC ^^;

Critter Crunch is SO AWESOME to play with. I thought it'd be another small game that'll fill up my hard-drive after I finish/quit with the Adventure mode, but the best part of it is the co-op and versus modes, offline AND online.

That's right: I'm playing online games. Run for the hills, Lady R's playing online after she calims NEVER to go near such a concept.

But I can't help it, it's that literally addicting! I'm still seeing those critters in my mind's eye even after minutes of not playing on it. Someone even joked that their significant other usually makes an invite, "Wanna play Rainbow Barf?" (That was your Jimmy-Jimmy, right Jess?) Yes, they barf rainbows to feed their young, but it's just so cute! :nirvana:

I guess it's because the community (or lack thereof in it, there's only about 2-4K actively playing that section) is very competitive, and I find myself frothing from the mouth after a good battle. And then there's the endearing-ness of co-oping as an adult Biggs or a little Biggs. It requires a lot of timing and teamwork to pull it off before the game kills you, and it's worth every critter to get a personal best.

Anyone with a PS3 and Internet connection wanna get together sometime? It'd be nice to compete with some fellow Deviants instead of random strangers -- they're okay, but I wanna play with my friends also! My user name is simply "MiraKHall", since I didn't want anything complicated in a name, especially for a credit card-enabled account (and I think I'm growing out of the Lady Rumplestiltskin name as well).

Hope to play with some of y'alls! ;)

Boy, Is It Ever Monday

Journal Entry: Mon Oct 26, 2009, 11:02 AM

Things are moving too fast for me. We went to a local Mercedes dealers place that also sells C-Smarts (which are on special sale). Mom wants to get TWO OF THEM, one for Sis, since her '96 Toyota Tercel's about 15 years old, and one for Dad because he's a grouchy ol' man who can't stand other people honking at him when he takes five minutes to get out of a low-rider sports car with a loooong side door whilst having bad knees, and bad legs, and a bad back... shouldn't that constitute a handicap permit for him, since he's genuinely crippled?

I honestly don't know how we are for money these days, but Mom's in charge of finances in the household, so this was originally her idea to go see the C-Smarts for a potential Decemberween gift. All I know is that Mom seems to be THAT certain I'll get a job by the end of this year. Ha-ha-ha. :sarcasm:

I must plan to finish my displacer beast before All Hallow's Day comes about. I'm also tempted to draw some Critter Crunch fanart. I downloaded the full game yesterday (personal Birthday gift, since I charged it with my Visa debit instead of Mom's Discover card) and was hooked on it for a whole day :XD: It's right up there with the PacMan theory: cute things and food-related stuff sells :giggle:

I would like to read an excerpt from this month's Funny Times under the News of the Weird section, under the subsection entitle, "She's a Real Doll."

Lonely Japanese men (and a few women) with rich imaginations have created a thriving subculture ("otaku") in which they have all-consuming relationships with figurines that are based on popular anime characters. The less extreme, reported a New York Times writer, obsessively collect the dolls. The hardcore otaku "actually believes that a lumpy pillow with a drawing of a teenage character is his girlfriend," and takes her out in public on romantic dates. "She's really changed my life," said 'Nisan,' 37, referring to his gal 'Nemutan'. (The otaku dolls are not to be confused with the life-size, anatomically-correct dols that other lonely men use for sex.)

Now, HERE's the sad part:

One forlorn "2-D" (so named for preferring relationships with two-dimensionals) said he would like to marry a real 3-D woman, "But look at me. How can someone who carries this doll around get married?"

Obviously, Chuck Shepherd, the editor for the News of the Weird section, has never heard of the subculture known as the obsessed teenage girls fandom who A) think they're destined to marry Sora or Riku, or B) DEMANDS that Sora and Riku are an item, going against original canon :greetings: There should be an online/local dating service for these guys.

And don't get me started on the bestiality thing (being a furry me'self); I'll go running and screaming before I even MEET one in person, much less see one on television :O

I soooo can't wait to see the new Homestar Halloween toon this week! :excited:

Halloween Canceled?

Journal Entry: Mon Oct 19, 2009, 11:15 PM

I'm not dead -- I've just been very busy lately that I haven't had time to compose a journal entry. Right now, I'm waiting for midnight to strike so I can see thru some new Daily Deviations before I crash whilst working on my monster's muscle structures  I coulda sworn I had an excellent book reference for that -- maybe it's in Mom's library...

But my main plan of focus is cleaning up the house, filled with four months worth of dust, shedding cat hair, human hair and skin particles *coughdustcough* It's finally cool enough to do that, plus, I like to go thru our DVD collections and see which ones we can live without.

Then Wednesday, I have to write an half-assed resume with list of references. That one isn't going so well because I need a total of ten, and I only got about... what, four or five? I know a few I've framed for charity (Birthday and/or Decemberween gifts), but they have a better life than I do, so I'm having a hard time getting in contact with them :dohtwo: (P.S., thanks so much for the vital info before you gone off to Uni, Lawzy :thanks:) I'm not sure if I need a complete resume w/reference (this is a workshop, after all), but I like being complete.

Like I said: working on a monster of some sort. It's a very muscular creature, so I'm having trouble on its structures. I'm still proud of it, though; it's the best I can come up with during my Birthday month.

To all my close friends who wish [or is able] to lend an ear -- LB, Jackie, Lawz, Yosh' -- remind me to note you: something stupid came up and it's pissing me off. If there's a possibility of a Halloween cancellation, then it's proof that adults are too damn overprotective of their brats! Please :please:

At the moment, sis's chocolate chip cookies seems to be calming me down for the coming weeks. Very odd, that, but I kinda need that therapy, anyhoo... I'll be a grouch-bag against my own will *coughperiodcough* during my Birthday week :X Sometimes I wonder if having a Panda-Plan is worth the amnesia over how painful and frustrating PMS can be, especially since I live with two other women who're still monthly themselves, and on those times, I'm in the same boat with poor ol' Dad :cling:

"What'd I do?!"

Jugga-jigga-wugga.
